Scope

GB/T 42230-2022 is the English-translated version of 钢板卷道路运输捆绑固定要求.

GB/T 42230-2022 covers the lashing of steel coils moved by road: a dense cylinder that carries its whole mass in one unit and has no flat face to sit on unless it is cradled. The document applies to coils that have to be bundled and are carried on a stand or skid, with a single coil mass of no more than 35,000 kg and a width of not less than 600 mm. Clause 4 sets the technical requirements for the binding and fixing devices, clause 5 the requirements for how the coil is bound and secured, and clause 6 the requirements for inspection, maintenance, withdrawal from service and replacement. Two normative appendices carry the technical requirements for chain binding assemblies and for wire rope binding assemblies, and a third, informative, illustrates the fixtures themselves. Clause 6 is the part a fleet feels most. Lashing hardware is bought once and then reused daily for years, and a chain or rope still sitting in the truck is not necessarily still fit to hold the load, so a rule on when a device leaves service does as much work as its original rating. Written for steel producers and their logistics departments, road hauliers, makers of lashing equipment, and transport safety inspectors.

Written for steel producers and their logistics departments, road hauliers, makers of lashing equipment, and transport safety inspectors.

This document specifies the technical requirements for binding and fixing devices for road transport of steel plate coils, requirements for binding and fixing, and inspection, maintenance, deactivation and replacement.
