Scope

GB/T 41318-2022 is the English-translated version of 通风消声器.

GB/T 41318-2022 is the Chinese national standard for ventilation silencers.

It gives the classification and the designation, the general requirements, the requirements themselves - the acoustic performance, the pressure drop, the materials and their fire behaviour, the construction and the finish - the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage.

It applies to the production and inspection of the dissipative and reactive silencers used in ventilation and air conditioning work, including silencing bends, silencing plenums and exhaust silencers.

Silencer makers, HVAC contractors and inspectors use it. Issued on 9 March 2022, it has applied since 1 October 2022.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification and marking, general requirements, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

This document applies to the production and inspection of various types of resistive and resistive mufflers used in ventilation and air-conditioning system engineering. Muffler elbows, muffler plenums and exhaust bleed mufflers.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated citations documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3947 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Silencer

It is installed in the ventilation and air-conditioning system, which not only allows the air flow to pass through, but also effectively suppresses the propagation of noise along the air flow channel.

3.2 Resistive muffler dissipativesilencer;absorptivesilencer

Ventilation mufflers that absorb sound energy using resistive sound-absorbing materials.

Note: In this document, the performance requirements of impedance composite mufflers are consistent with those of resistive mufflers, and are not classified separately.

3.3 Reactive muffler

No resistive sound-absorbing materials are used, and the reflection and resonance of sound waves can be used through the sudden change of the pipe section or the resonance sound-absorbing structure inside the muffler.

And other principles, the ventilation muffler that hinders the transmission of sound energy.
