GB/T 41018-2021 is the Chinese national guideline for classifying reclaimed water, meaning water recovered from urban sewage.

It gives the classification scheme and the terms it relies on, such as secondary, tertiary and advanced treatment, and it draws on the existing water quality standards for uses such as urban miscellaneous water, landscape water, groundwater recharge, industrial and boiler water, farmland and green space irrigation and electronic grade water.

It is meant to be used in urban reclaimed water allocation planning, safety management, benefit evaluation, statistics and identification of reclaimed water, so that planners, utilities and regulators describe the same water in the same way. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.
