Scope
GB/T 41017-2021 is the English-translated version of 水回用导则 污水再生处理技术与工艺评价方法.
GB/T 41017-2021 sets out how to evaluate the technologies and processes used to treat wastewater so that it can be reused as reclaimed water. It specifies the indicator system for the evaluation, the evaluation procedure and the requirements to be met, and applies to the assessment of wastewater reclamation technologies and processes.
It builds on the water conservation terminology of GB/T 21534 and refers to the Chinese water quality standards for reclaimed water used for urban miscellaneous purposes, landscape, groundwater recharge, industry, farmland and green space irrigation, together with the HJ rules for water sampling and sample preservation.
It defines sewage, reclaimed water and wastewater reclamation. It is meant for those who assess reclamation technologies and processes. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

1 Scope

3 Terms and Definitions
GB/T 21534 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Sewage; wastewater
The general term for water discharged from production and living activities.
3.2 Reclaimed water; recycled water; reused water
After the sewage is treated, it can meet certain water quality requirements, meet certain use functions, and can be used safely and beneficially.
3.3 Wastewater reclamation
Purify sewage or effluent from sewage treatment plants that meet discharge standards GB 8978 or GB 18918 for the purpose of producing reclaimed water process of processing.
