Scope
GB/T 40601-2021 is the English-translated version of 电力系统实时数字仿真技术要求.
GB/T 40601-2021 sets out the technical requirements for real-time digital simulation of power systems, that is, digital simulation that runs at the same pace as the physical process it reproduces.
It covers the functions and performance of the simulation system, the simulation process and the practical application scenarios, and defines terms such as multiple time-step simulation, in which parts of the system are modelled with different methods and steps and joined through interfaces, as in electromechanical-electromagnetic hybrid simulation.
Its normative references include relay protection test methods, network security protection, stability control system inspection and communication standards such as DL/T 860, IEC 60870-5-104 and IEC 61850-9-2.
Annex A deals with device debugging and performance testing and Annex B with power system simulation analysis. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Real-time digital simulation
Digital simulation that is consistent with the advancement speed of actual physical processes in the natural world.
3.2 Multiple time-step simulation
The simulation object is decomposed into multiple subsystems, and different subsystems adopt different modeling methods, numerical calculation methods and simulation steps, and pass The interface joint realizes the overall simulation.
Note: Including electromechanical-electromagnetic hybrid simulation, electromagnetic transient large and small step size simulation, etc.
