GB/T 40525-2021 is the English-translated version of 地理信息在线共享接口规范.
GB/T 40525-2021 specifies the interfaces through which geographic information data are shared online. It defines the basic service interfaces, which provide directory, publishing and operation services on standard interfaces, and the requirements for extended services, the custom interfaces used when the basic services cannot meet a sharing need.
The document covers the classification of the interfaces, the data directory service interface and the data operation service interface, and its informative annexes give an XML schema for the open query service and use cases of the service interfaces.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic service interface and extended service requirements for online sharing of geographic information data.
This standard applies to the construction and application of online service platforms for geographic information data resources.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Geographic information
Information about phenomena directly or indirectly related to places on the earth. [GB/T 17694-2009, definition B.211]
3.2 Geographic information service
Provide users with services that convert, manage or represent geographic information (3.1). [GB/T 17694-2009, definition B.212]
3.3 Basic service
For online sharing of geographic information (3.1) data, it provides directory services, publishing services and operation services based on standard interfaces.
3.4 Extended service
When the basic service (3.3) cannot meet the sharing requirements, other custom service interfaces can be customized.
