1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of treatment and disposal of electroplating sludge, and the classification of treatment and disposal.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Electroplating sludge
Sludge produced by the treatment of waste liquid (waste water) produced during the production or operation of the electroplating industry.
Note. Electroplating sludge is divided into electroplating and quality sludge and electroplating mixed sludge.
3.2 Plating quality sludge
An electroplated sludge mainly containing a single heavy metal element obtained by treating the same type or different types of electroplating waste liquid (waste water).
Note. For example, copper sludge, nickel sludge, chromium sludge, and the like.
3.3 Electroplating mixed sludge
The main contents of the electroplating waste liquid (waste water) produced by different plating or different production processes are collected in the wastewater pool and then concentrated.
Electroplated sludge with two or more heavy metal elements.
Note. For example, copper chromium sludge, copper nickel sludge, etc.
3.4 Electroplating sludge treatment
The process of stabilizing, reducing, and detoxifying and recycling the electroplating sludge.
3.5 Electroplating sludge disposal
The final consumption process for electroplating sludge.
Note. Electroplating sludge disposal generally includes safe landfill, melt disposal and building materials utilization.
