GB/T 37159.1-2018 is the English-translated version of 石油天然气钻采设备 海洋石油自升式钻井平台 第1部分:功能配置和设计要求.
GB/T 37159.1-2018 is Part 1 of the Chinese national standard on offshore self-elevating (jack-up) drilling units, and deals with their functional configuration and design requirements.
It sets out the configuration of the structure, power and electrical systems, drilling system, deck and auxiliary machinery, safety, lifesaving and environmental protection systems, living facilities, piping and cable systems, and the overall platform configuration scheme.
A matching set of design requirements covers the main structure and each of these systems, ending with the design scheme, and an informative annex lists cable specifications and applicable standards.
It applies to the overall configuration, equipment selection and design of offshore oil jack-up drilling platforms. The other parts cover construction, installation and commissioning tests, and operational inspection. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

GB/T 37159 "Petroleum and Natural Gas Drilling Equipment Offshore Oil Jack-up Drilling Platform" is divided into three parts.

This part is the first part of GB/T 37159.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 37159 specifies the functional configuration and design requirements for offshore oil jack-up rigs (hereinafter referred to as "platforms").
This section applies to the overall configuration, equipment selection and design of offshore oil jack-up drilling platforms.
