GB/T 36974-2018 is the English-translated version of 土方机械轮胎式叉装机技术条件.

China's national specification for forklift wheel loaders. It specifies the terms and definitions, the models, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage, with an informative annex.

The machine is a wheel loader whose bucket has been replaced by a fork carriage, and it sits in a gap that neither of its parents fills.

An industrial forklift is built for flat concrete and cannot work on unmade ground; a telescopic handler is expensive; and a loader with forks bolted on has the reach and the visibility of a loader, which is to say the wrong ones for handling pallets.

The specified machine is designed for the job: articulated, with the load carried low and close, and rated for the rough ground of a builders' merchant, a timber yard, a brickworks or a farm.

Its critical figure is the rated capacity at a stated load centre, which is where a machine derived from a loader has to be tested honestly rather than assumed from its lifting capacity.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, models, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and regulations of the tire-type forklift (hereinafter referred to as the forklift).

Marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

This standard is applicable to tire-type forklift machines with a rated loading and unloading load of not less than 8000kg.
