Scope

GB/T 36559-2018 is the English-translated version of 高压直流输电用晶闸管阀.

GB/T 36559-2018 covers thyristor valves for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission.

It sets out terms and definitions for valve design, voltage and current parameters, control and protection, the rated DC voltage and DC current levels, and the conditions of use, from the valve hall environment and the operating environment of the valve base electronics (VBE) to earthquake resistance.

Performance requirements cover the thyristors, mechanical and electrical performance, trigger mode, valve losses, redundancy and reliability, the cooling system, control, monitoring and protection, fire protection and maintenance, followed by type, routine, sampling and field tests and by packaging, transportation and storage.

It applies to water-cooled, air-insulated thyristor valves installed indoors, and other types can refer to it. It was issued on 13 July 2018 and has applied since 1 February 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of thyristor valves for HV DC transmission (hereinafter referred to as thyristor valves), basic parameter grades, conditions of use, performance requirements, testing and packaging, transportation and storage.

This standard applies to water-cooled, air-insulated, indoor-mounted thyristor valves. Other types of thyristor valves are also referred to.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 13498-2017 and IEC 60700-2:2016 apply to this document. In order to facilitate Some of the terms and definitions in GB/T 13498-2017 and IEC 60700-2:2016 are repeated below.

3.1 Thyristor valve design

3.1.1 Thyristor

A bistable semiconductor device that can be switched from an off state to an on state by three or more PN structures.

Note 1. A device with only three layers but whose switching characteristics are similar to a four-layer thyristor can also be called a thyristor.

Note 2. The term "thyristor" is used as a generic term to cover all PNPN type devices. It can be used alone in the thyristor family when it is not misunderstood or misunderstood Any member. In particular, the term "thyristor" is widely used to reverse block triode thyristors (formerly known as "thyristors").

Note 3. The thyristor can be either an electrical trigger or a light trigger type. [IEC 60700-2:2016, Definition 6.1]
