Scope
GB/T 36383-2018 is the English-translated version of 氯乙烯精馏过程中高沸物处理处置方法.
GB/T 36383-2018 deals with the high boilers left over from the rectification of vinyl chloride produced from acetylene and hydrogen chloride by the calcium carbide process.
It defines these high boilers, gives their composition, mainly vinyl chloride and dichloroethane with small amounts of dichloroethylene, trichloroethylene and trichloroethane, and sets out treatment and disposal methods together with safety requirements.
The treatment relies on the different volatility of the components: in a first-stage vinyl chloride separation tower the vinyl chloride is drawn off the top and collected for reuse, and the remaining kettle liquid then passes to a dichloroethane separation tower.
It applies to the treatment and disposal of high boilers in plants making vinyl chloride by the calcium carbide process. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, composition, treatment and disposal methods and safety requirements for high-boiling substances in the vinyl chloride rectification process.
This standard is applicable to the treatment and disposal of high boilers in the process of producing vinyl chloride by calcium carbide process.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 High boiling
The organic mixture of acetylene and hydrogen chloride to synthesize vinyl chloride from the high boiling column during rectification.
4 Composition
The main components of the high boiler are vinyl chloride, dichloroethane and a small amount of dichloroethylene, trichloroethylene, trichloroethane and the like.
5 Treatment and disposal methods
5.1 Principle
Using the difference in volatility of the components in the high boiler at different temperatures, the gas and liquid phases are reversed in multiple stages by refluxing the liquid phase and the gas phase.
Contact, under the constraint of thermal energy drive and phase equilibrium, makes the volatile component vinyl chloride (light component) continuously transfer from the liquid phase to the gas phase.
However, the hardly volatile components such as dichloroethane migrate from the gas phase to the liquid phase, so that the high boilers are continuously separated.
5.2 Process Description
The treatment of high boilers includes the separation of vinyl chloride and the separation of dichloroethane.
The separation process of vinyl chloride is a high-boiling substance in a high-boiling storage tank entering a vinyl chloride separation tower (first-stage tower), controlling a certain liquid level, and passing a regulating valve.
Control the boiling water of the vinyl chloride column reboiler to maintain the kettle temperature and the temperature of the top of the column within a certain range; the high boiler gas phase after heating rises, the liquid phase Decrease, control the outlet temperature of the vinyl chloride separation tower by adjusting the amount of water in the top condenser, so that the light component vinyl chloride is extracted from the top of the tower, and the purity is high.
The vinyl chloride gas is collected and reused, and the components such as dichloroethane having a boiling point higher than that of vinyl chloride are left in the tower, and the content of vinyl chloride in the kettle is sampled and analyzed.
After lower, the kettle liquid is stably produced into the tower liquid storage tank.
The separation of dichloroethane is the separation tank of the vinyl chloride separation tower. The tank liquid storage tank reaches a certain liquid level and then enters the dichloroethane separation tower through flow control.
