GB/T 35058-2018 is the English-translated version of 提质煤煤质特征评价技术指南.
GB/T 35058-2018 is a guide for evaluating the quality of upgraded coal, the product obtained when low-rank coals such as lignite and long-flame coal go through an upgrading process.
It sets the quality evaluation indexes for each kind of upgraded coal, starting with dewatered coal, together with the quality control indexes, their control values and the test methods.
The methods refer to the national standards for total moisture, proximate analysis, calorific value, total sulfur, carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen in coal, and the terms follow GB/T 35062 on low-rank coal upgrading.
It applies to the evaluation of the coal quality characteristics of upgraded coal. It was issued on 14 May 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the quality evaluation index of quality coal, quality control indicators and control values and test methods for quality coal.
This standard applies to the evaluation of coal quality characteristics of upgraded coal.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 35062 apply to this document. For ease of use, the following is repeated in GB/T 35062 Certain terms and definitions.
3.1 Low rank coal
Coal with a lower degree of coalification usually refers to lignite, long-flame coal, non-coked coal, and the like. [GB/T 35062-2018, definition 3.1]
3.2 Upgraded coal
Low-rank coal is processed through a certain upgrading process to obtain the coal product. [GB/T 35062-2018, definition 3.3]
