Scope
GB/T 34690.1-2017 is the English-translated version of 印刷技术 胶印数字化过程控制 第1部分:概述.
GB/T 34690.1-2017 is the first part of the Chinese national series on digitalized process control for offset printing.
Clause 1 states that this part specifies the terms and definitions involved in the overview of digitalized process control in offset printing production together with the structure of GB/T 34690 and its overall requirements, and that it applies to the construction of an offset printing digital workflow; no exclusion is stated.
The part is built as 1 Scope, 2 Terms and definitions and 3 GB/T 34690 structure, and it carries no normative references clause.
Clause 2 defines offset printing, taken from GB/T 9851.1-2008 as the lithographic process in which the ink first passes from the plate to the blanket and is then transferred to the substrate; digitalized process control, as accurate operation and management based on digital information in the production process; soft proofing, taken from GB/T 9851.2-2008 as the process of previewing, checking or confirming page copy quality on a colour monitor; digital hard copy proofing, as the process that uses pre-press data and a digital copy system to simulate the visual effect of the final print; and the computer direct platesetter, which records the text and images directly onto the plate.
Clause 3 says that the structure and interrelationships of all ten parts are shown in Figure 1, that Part 1 describes the structure of GB/T 34690 and gives the general requirements of offset digitalized process control along with the outlined requirements of each part, that Part 2 lays down the overall production environment requirements for Parts 3 to 9, that Parts 1 and 2 are the basis of the series, that Parts 3 to 9 set the specific requirements of digital printing process control, and that Part 10 specifies the method for evaluating whether Parts 1 to 9 meet the requirements.
The foreword lists the ten parts as Overview, Operating environment, The receipt and processing of raw data, Output file production, Soft proofing, Digital proofing, Computer direct plate making, Offset printing equipment, Printing and Evaluation methods, notes that some of the document may be patentable without the issuing bodies being responsible for identifying patents, and records that the part was proposed by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and is administered by the National Printing Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC170).
The draft on the page ends with clause 3, so no text beyond it is shown. The page declares no replaced edition; the part was issued on November 1, 2017 and has applied since May 1, 2018.
