GB/T 34690.3-2017 is Part 3 of the Chinese national series on digitalized process control for offset printing, and it covers what happens to the originals a customer supplies before the press.

It sets the requirements for receiving original data, both material still to be imposed and made-up single-page files, and for processing it into single-page files fit for output, together with the terms and the test methods that go with them.

The terms it defines include page element, image assembly, the ICC colour profile and the open prepress interface, three of them taken from GB/T 9851.2-2008. It applies to offset printing, and other printing processes may refer to it. The document was issued on 1 November 2017 and has applied since 1 May 2018.

1 Scope

GB/T 34690 provisions of this part of the pre-press process to receive the raw data provided by the customer (including to be group version of the information, documents and Group version of the single-page document) and processed into compliance with the requirements of the single-page documents related to the terms and definitions, receiving requirements, processing requirements and test methods.

This section applies to offset the original data receiving and processing, other printing methods may refer to use.

2 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

2.1 Page element

Graphic page, with the current processing environment of the composite entity sub-structure, such as text blocks, continuous tone image or contour graphics, its own group The smallest logical element that becomes a composite entity. [GB/T 9851.2-2008, Definition 4.17]

2.2 Group version image assembly

The pages of the page elements are combined and positioned to form a complete page operation. [GB/T 9851.2-2008, Definition 4.18]

2.3 ICC color profile

In line with the International Color Union (ICC InternationalColourConsortium acronym) file format requirements of the color characteristics file. [GB/T 9851.2-2008, Definition 2.5.1]

2.4 Open prepress interface

Group version of the use of specific server automatically generated low-resolution images, the output is linked to the corresponding high-resolution image prepress the way.

3 Receive the request

3.1 The original data requirements

3.1.1 to be group version of the information, documents

3.1.1.2 Layout design requirements shall be provided.

3.1.1.3 Page elements and information that can be converted to page elements should be complete.
