Scope
GB/T 34349-2017 is the English-translated version of 输气管道内腐蚀外检测方法.
GB/T 34349-2017 fixes the content, the methods and the procedure for inspecting the internal corrosion of buried steel natural gas pipelines from outside the pipe, covering general provisions, data collection, the prediction of corrosion locations, excavation inspection, the determination of the inspection interval, and recording and reporting.
Clause 1 narrows the application to dry gas pipelines in which a small quantity of liquid water, or of another electrolyte, is present as a short-term anomaly, and adds that the corrosion inspection of above-ground steel gas pipelines may be carried out with reference to this standard.
Its contents list names clause 4 General, clause 5 Data collection, clause 6 Corrosion location prediction, clause 7 Excavation inspection, clause 8 Determination of the inspection cycle and clause 9 Record and report, followed by Annex A (informative) on the application of corrosion inspection to dry gas pipelines, Annex B (informative) with an example of how an inspection section is delimited, and a bibliography.
Clause 3 carries the terms, definitions and symbols: dry gas is gas above its dew point temperature and free of condensate; the inspection method itself is defined as the detection of corrosion of the pipe lining from outside the pipe through data collection, corrosion location prediction, excavation inspection and determination of the inspection interval; the critical inclination angle is the smallest inclination angle at which, under laminar flow conditions, the flow model calculates that no carrying by the gas occurs, while the actual inclination angle is the elevation change between two points of the pipeline; and an inspection section is a continuous length of pipe, welds included, with similar physical characteristics and operating parameters and no significant change in the properties of the fluid.
Among the documents it declares indispensable for its application are GB/T 19285 on the inspection of corrosion protection engineering for buried steel pipelines, GB/T 19624 on the safety assessment of pressure vessels with defects, all parts of GB/T 17747 on the calculation of the natural gas compression factor, and TSG D7003, the periodic inspection rules for long-distance oil and gas pressure piping.
It was proposed and is administered by the National Technical Committee for Boiler and Pressure Vessel Standardization (SAC/TC262). The standard was issued on 14 October 2017 and has applied since 1 May 2018.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the contents, methods and procedures for testing corrosion outside the buried steel gas pipeline, including general principles, data collection, corrosion location Forecasting, excavation testing, testing cycle determination, recording and reporting, and appendices.
This standard applies to short-term anomalies exist in a small amount of liquid water (or other electrolytes) dry gas pipeline. Ground laying gas steel Pipeline corrosion testing may refer to the implementation of this standard.
2 Normative references
The following documents for the application of this document is essential. For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document. For undated references, the latest edition (including all revisions) applies to this document.
GB/T 17747 (all parts) calculation of natural gas compression factor
GB/T 19285 buried steel pipeline corrosion protection engineering inspection
GB/T 19624 Safety assessment of pressure vessels with defects
Risk - based inspection and evaluation of the damage of buried steel pipelines
TSG D7003 pressure pipe regular inspection rules --- long-distance (oil and gas) pipe
3 Terms, definitions and symbols
3.1 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1.1 Dry gas
Gas above dew point temperature and free of condensate.
3.1.2 Internal corrosion external inspection for pipeline
Methods of detecting corrosion of pipe lining from outside the pipe, including data collection, prediction of corrosion location, excavation inspection and inspection Cycle to determine other steps.
3.1.3 Critical inclination angle
Flow model calculated under the condition of laminar flow gas does not occur carrying the minimum dip angle.
3.1.4 Actual inclination angle
Pipeline elevation between the two points of change.
3.1.5 Inspection section
Pipelines carrying out internal corrosion testing have similar physical characteristics and operating parameters, a continuous tube with no significant changes in fluid properties Road (including the weld).
