Scope
GB/T 33961-2017 is the English-translated version of 炼焦废水处理技术规范.
GB/T 33961-2017 is the Chinese national technical specification for the treatment of coking wastewater. It gives the terms and definitions, the design flow and quality of the water, the overall requirements of the treatment process, and then the pretreatment, the biological treatment, the post-treatment and the advanced treatment.
It distinguishes coking - the thermal decomposition of coking coal heated out of contact with air to give coke, coke oven gas and coking chemicals - from the wastewater it produces, and separates conventional coke oven wastewater, from indirect high-temperature carbonisation in chambers heated from a separate combustion chamber, from semi-coke (blue charcoal) wastewater, from the low-temperature carbonisation of non-caking, weakly caking and long-flame coals below 750 degrees Celsius.
Terms and process requirements follow HJ 2022; the discharge and environmental limits it calls up are the coking industry pollutant discharge standard GB 16171, the odour pollutant standard GB 14554, the industrial enterprise boundary noise standard GB 12348, the hazardous waste storage standard GB 18597, the environmental protection graphical signs of GB 15562.1, and the design codes GB 50014 for outdoor drainage and GB 50187 for the general layout of industrial enterprises.
It applies to the treatment of coking wastewater. Issued on 12 July 2017, it has applied since 1 April 2018.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions coking wastewater treatment, water and water quality, the overall requirements of coking wastewater treatment process, pretreatment, students Processing, post-processing, depth processing.
This standard applies to coking wastewater treatment.

3 Terms and definitions
HJ2022 defined and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Coking
Coking coal in the isolated air heating conditions, thermal decomposition and coking produce coke, coke oven gas and coking chemical products process.
3.2 Coking wastewater
Wastewater produced during coking.
3.3 Conventional coke oven coking wastewater
Coking chamber, the combustion chamber divided, coking coal isolated from the air indirectly heated high temperature carbonization into the process of waste water.
3.4 Semi-coke (blue charcoal) wastewater
Non-stick coal, weak sticky coal, long flame coal as raw materials, carbonization temperature below 750 °C in the low-temperature dry distillation, the production of semi coke (blue carbon) process In the waste water produced.
