Scope

GB/T 33957-2017 is the English-translated version of 热处理炉热平衡测试与计算方法.

GB/T 33957-2017 sets out how the heat balance of a heat treatment furnace is measured and calculated.

It fixes the basis of the test and the calculation, the description of the equipment and of the furnace, the record of recent production, the preparation for the test, the test steps, the content of the test and the places and methods of measurement, the calculation methods, and the main content of the heat balance test report.

It applies to the heat treatment furnaces of the steel industry fired with gaseous or liquid fuel, and other industries may use it for reference.

The reference temperature is the average ambient temperature within 1 m of the furnace wall; the low calorific value of the wet gas is used for gaseous fuel and the low calorific value as received for liquid fuel; the balance is normally drawn for the furnace, and for the whole furnace including the waste heat recovery device where one is fitted.

For an intermittent furnace the test lasts one heating cycle, from the start of heating to the complete stop of the fuel supply, while a continuous furnace is tested under continuous conditions at least twice for not less than 2 h each time, and the result is expressed as the heat consumed per tonne of charge in kJ/t.

It cites GB/T 476, GB/T 1884, GB/T 1885, GB/T 17040 and SH/T 0172, along with the methods for the calorific value and the ash content of petroleum products and for moisture in chemical products by loss on drying. It was issued on 12 July 2017 and has applied since 1 April 2018.

1 Scope

3 Thermal balance test and calculation basis

3.1 Reference temperature

Using the average temperature of the environment, that is, the average ambient temperature of the heat treatment furnace within 1 m from the furnace wall.

3.2 Fuel calorific value

The low (bit) calorific value of the wet gas is used for the gaseous fuel, and the low (bit) calorific value is received for the liquid fuel.

3.3 Thermal balance test range

According to the test requirements, generally do the furnace heat balance, if the waste heat recovery device is the whole furnace (including waste heat recovery device).

3.4 Heat balance test time

The test time for the intermittent heat treatment furnace is a heating cycle, i.e., from the start of heating to the complete stop of the supply of fuel. On the continuous Type heat treatment furnace should be in continuous conditions for continuous testing, the general should be tested more than 2 times, each time not less than 2h.

3.5 Heat balance calculation unit

The amount of heat consumed per ton of furnace material is calculated as kJ/t.
