1 Scope

This document specifies the materials, design, construction, inspection and acceptance, and documentation requirements for corrosion control technology involving external cold-applied petroleum grease tape coating of steel pipelines.

Materials and their preservation.

This document applies to the external cooling of steel pipes and irregularly shaped components (such as flanges, valves, tees, crosses, etc.) in atmospheric environments (including humid environments).

The corrosion control technology of coating with mineral grease tape can be used as a reference for corrosion control of cold-applied mineral grease tape coating on the exterior of other steel structures.
