1 Scope

China's national technical specification for complete sets of feed processing equipment. It specifies the terms and definitions, the requirements, the test methods and the acceptance procedure for such plant, and it applies to the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and acceptance of equipment used in the industrial production of livestock, poultry and aquaculture feed, concentrated feed and concentrate supplement feed. It does not apply to premix processing equipment. The subject is a whole factory rather than a machine: raw material intake and cleaning, grinding, batching and weighing, mixing, conditioning, pelleting or extrusion, cooling, crumbling, screening, liquid addition, and packing, together with the pneumatic conveying, aspiration and computer control that tie them together. Specifying it as a set rather than as individual machines is the point of the document, because in feed milling the capacity and the product quality of the plant are properties of the combination and not of any one machine: a mixer that meets its own specification will still produce an out-of-tolerance mix if the batching scales upstream are wrong, and a pellet mill will not reach its rated output if the conditioner cannot deliver enough steam. The requirements therefore cover the equipment series and specifications, the technical parameters, the process design, the base machinery, the computer control system, installation, commissioning, painting, and occupational health and safety - the last of these carrying real weight, since a feed mill is a dust, noise and explosion environment. Three normative annexes give the processing quality indicators for aquaculture feed, the recommended test formulations, and the test methods for those indicators. Issued on 31 December 2013 and in force since 1 October 2014.

This standard specifies the terms and definitions feed processing equipment, requirements, test methods and acceptance. This standard applies to industrial production of livestock and poultry and aquatic feed, concentrated feed and concentrate supplement feed processing equipment design, manufacture Manufacture, installation, commissioning and acceptance (hereinafter referred to as equipment). This standard does not apply to pre-mixed feed processing equipment.
