GB/T 2979-2026 is the English-translated version of 农业轮胎规格、尺寸、气压与负荷.

GB/T 2979-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the agricultural tyre tables - every size with its dimensions on a specified rim, and the load it may carry at each inflation pressure and speed, which is what a tractor's axle load has to be checked against. At 29,500 words it is essentially a table book, and the reference for anyone fitting or importing agricultural tyres. It replaces GB/T 2979-2017 and has been in force since 1 September 2026. It was issued on 27 February 2026 and has been in force since 1 September 2026, replacing GB/T 2979-2017. The document is under the responsibility of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. 1 Scope

This document specifies the method of representing agricultural tire specifications, tire specifications, dimensions, air pressure and load, tire tread pattern, and tire valves. This document applies to new agricultural pneumatic tires.

4.Methods of representing tire specifications Agricultural tires are defined and described through tire specification markings and other markings. Example. Examples of agricultural tire specification markings.

5.4 The tire pressures specified in Tables 1 to 24 are measured when the tires are at ambient temperature and do not include pressure increases due to vehicle movement. Tables 1 to

24 The inflation pressure specified in Table 24 is the minimum inflation pressure at the corresponding load speed. If the driving speed changes, refer to the tire size table. The regulations in the document will be adjusted.

5.5 The load capacities specified in Tables 1 to 24 are the maximum loads under the corresponding operating conditions. In actual use, the loads given in the tables can be used as the reference. The relationship between capacity and speed needs to be adjusted. When used as a dual-tire system, the maximum load should be 88% of the standard maximum load capacity. When three tires are used together, the maximum load should be 82% of the standard maximum load capacity.

5 Tire specifications, dimensions, tire pressure, and load

5.1 The tire specifications, ply rating, corresponding load capacity and inflation pressure, rim measurements, and new tire design dimensions shall conform to Tables 1 to 24. The regulations stipulate that the maximum usable size, valve stem type, and permissible wheel rim should conform to the provisions of Tables 1 to 24, and the maximum size of the inflatable tire and drive... 6.1 Pattern Classification The classification of agricultural tire tread patterns should comply with the provisions of Appendix B.
