Scope

GB/T 26985-2018 is the English-translated version of 原油倾点的测定.

GB/T 26985-2018 is the Chinese test method for the pour point of crude oil, covering both the highest (upper) and the lowest (lower) pour point. It applies to crude oils with a pour point of -36 °C or above and a water content of no more than 0.5%.

The sample is preheated, cooled at a prescribed rate and checked for flow every 3 °C, and the lowest temperature at which it still flows is recorded; the upper and lower values come from pretreatments that promote or retard wax gelation.

The standard defines the terms, the reagents, the apparatus, including liquid-in-glass or electronic thermometers and mixed refrigerants, and sampling to GB/T 4756 or GB/T 27867.

Oilfield and pipeline laboratories use it. It replaces GB/T 26985-2011, was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 26985-2011 "Determination of crude oil pour point", compared with GB/T 26985-2011, except for editorial modifications The main technical content changes are as follows.

--- Added normative reference document GB/T 27867 (see Chapter 2);

--- Removed calcium chloride crystals (see 5.8 of the 2011 edition);

--- Increased the choice of electronic thermometers (see 6.1.2);

--- Revised the contents of the commonly used mixed refrigerants in Table 2 (see Table 2, Table 2 of the 2011 edition);

--- Removed quality assurance and control (see Chapter 11 of the 2011 edition);

--- Amend Appendix A to be a normative appendix.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the pour point of crude oil, including the determination of the highest (upper) pour point and the lowest (lower) pour point.

This standard applies to crude oil with a pour point of not less than -36 ° C and a water content (mass fraction or volume fraction) of not more than 0.5%.

2 Normative references

The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document. For undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

Technical conditions for GB/T 514 glass liquid thermometer for petroleum product testing

GB/T 4756 petroleum liquid manual sampling method

GB/T 27867 automatic sampling method for petroleum liquid pipeline

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Pour point

The lowest temperature at which the sample was observed under the conditions of this test.

3.2 Highest (upper) pour point

The sample was subjected to a pour point observed after a specific treatment designed to promote wax crystal gelation and sample solidification.

3.3 Minimum (lower) pour point

The sample was subjected to a pour point observed after a specific treatment designed to retard wax gelation and solidification of the sample.

4 Principle of the method

After the sample was preheated, it was cooled at a prescribed rate, and the flow characteristics of the sample were observed at intervals of 3 °C. Will observe the most able to flow the sample The low temperature value is recorded as the pour point of the sample.

5 Reagents or materials

Caution - 5.1~5.4 Reagents are flammable and may cause fire and steam.

5.1 Acetone. Industrial grade.

5.2 Ethanol. Industrial grade.
