Scope
GB/T 25104-2019 is the English-translated version of 原油水含量的自动测定 射频法.
GB/T 25104-2019 is the Chinese national method for measuring the water content of crude oil automatically by radio frequency. It applies to crude oil in pipeline transport, tanker transport and storage tank storage, and rests on Beer's law and on the way media of different concentration absorb electromagnetic waves, here between 300 kHz and 300 GHz.
It defines water content, the probe cleaning function, the oil phase point and the water phase point, and notes that the reading at a given instant is the instantaneous water content while the arithmetic mean over a period is the average.
Compared with the previous edition it adds storage tank measurement, replaces measurement frequency with sampling period and adds a clause on tuning the instrument.
It replaces GB/T 25104-2010, was issued on 30 August 2019 and has applied since 1 March 2020.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 25104-2010 "Automatic determination of crude oil water content radio frequency method", compared with GB/T 25104-2010 The technical changes are as follows.
--- Add warning content before the standard text;
--- Added "storage tank storage" method and re-rhelms the statement (see Chapter 1);
--- Added GB 3836.9, GB/T 8929 as a normative reference document (see Chapter 2);
--- Added the terms and definitions of "oil phase point" and "water phase point" (see Chapter 3);
--- Added the description of "the electromagnetic wave frequency is between 300kHz~300GHz" (see 4.1);
--- Added a description of the use of "the water content measured by this standard can be used for the calibration of crude oil during the measurement and transfer" (see 4.2);
--- "Measurement frequency" is changed to "sampling period" (see 5.2.2);
--- Increased the requirements of GB 3836.9 (see 5.3.1);
--- Added "tuning of the instrument" content (see Chapter 11).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for automatic determination of crude oil water content by radio frequency method.
This standard is applicable to the automatic determination of the water content of crude oil in pipeline transportation, tanker transportation and storage tank storage.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Water content
The amount used to indicate the water content is expressed as a percentage of the volume of water in the volume of the liquid medium.
Note: The moisture content at a certain moment is the instantaneous moisture content, and the arithmetic mean of the instantaneous moisture content in a certain period is the average moisture content.
3.2 Probe erasing function
Remove the attachment from the probe surface to eliminate its effect on measurement accuracy.
3.3 Oil phase point
The crude oil is located at a certain point in the oil phase.
3.4 Water phase point
The crude oil is located at a certain point in the water phase.
4 Summary of basic principles and methods
4.1 Basic principles
According to the Beer's law and the physical properties of electromagnetic waves, when electromagnetic waves of the same frequency pass through different concentrations of media, due to the absorption of the medium
