Scope
GB/T 2665-2017 is the English-translated version of 女西服、大衣.
China's national standard for women's suits and coats. It governs the tailored end of women's clothing, and the requirements exist because a tailored garment hides almost everything that determines its quality. A jacket or a coat contains interlining, shoulder pads, canvas and a lining that the customer never sees, and it is those that decide whether the garment keeps its shape: an interlining that shrinks differently from the shell fabric at the first dry cleaning bubbles the front panel permanently, and there is no repair. So the standard concentrates on what appears later rather than on the showroom - dimensional change after washing and dry cleaning, colour fastness to light, perspiration and rubbing, seam performance and the strength of the bond between fabric and fused interlining. It applies to women's suits, coats and similar woollen garments made from pure wool, wool blends, union fabrics and wool-like woven fabrics, and it does not apply to garments for infants of 36 months and under.
