1 Scope

GB/T 26216.1-2019 is the Chinese national standard covering DC current measuring device for HVDC transmission system, Part 1: Electronic DC current measuring device. It was issued on 10 December 2019 and has been in force since 1 July 2020, replacing GB/T 26216.1-2010. The document is under the responsibility of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association. This page is published from the official record of the 2019 edition. 2 Normative references

Clause 2 of GB/T 26216.1-2019 lists the normative references: the other standards that have to be applied together with this one for its requirements to be met. A dated reference means that only that edition applies; an undated one means the latest edition applies, amendments included.

3 Terms and definitions

Clause 3 of GB/T 26216.1-2019 gives the terms and definitions that apply to the document. In a Chinese national standard a definition is either written out in full or taken from another standard, and in that case the source is printed in square brackets after it, so that the same term keeps one meaning across the whole family of standards that use it.

The definitions decide how the requirements are read: two documents can use the same word for different things, and clause 3 is where the standard says which one it means. The terms are printed in the standard itself, with the Chinese alongside the English.

About this edition

GB/T 26216.1-2019 is the current edition. It was issued on 10 December 2019 and has been in force since 1 July 2020, replacing GB/T 26216.1-2010.

GB/T 26216.1-2010 has been superseded: a specification that still cites it is citing a withdrawn edition.

The interval between issue and effect is the transition period. It exists so that producers, laboratories and buyers can requalify products, revise procedures and use up documentation before the new text becomes the one that applies. The date on this page is the official one from the record of the Standardization Administration.

Edition history and citation

GB/T 26216.1-2019 replaces GB/T 26216.1-2010. A specification, drawing or test report that cites the older number is pointing at a document that is no longer the one in force, and the two editions can differ in requirements, in test methods or in scope.

Where an edition is replaced, the Chinese standardization system keeps the number and changes the year: the number identifies the subject, the year identifies the text. That is why a citation without a year is ambiguous and a citation with one is not.

Classification and status

GB/T 26216.1-2019 is classified under ICS 29.180, in the field of electrical engineering. ICS is the International Classification for Standards, the same scheme used by ISO and by the national bodies of most countries, which is what allows a Chinese standard to be placed beside its foreign counterparts on subject rather than on number.

Its Chinese Standard Classification code is CCS K 41. CCS is the domestic scheme, a letter for the sector and two digits for the subject within it, and it is the code by which the standard is filed and searched in China.

The GB/T prefix marks a recommended national standard. It is not, in itself, law: it becomes binding when a contract names it, when a regulation or a mandatory standard refers to it, or when a producer declares conformity with it. In practice that covers most of the cases in which it will be read — a purchase specification, an inspection agreement or a certification scheme.

The document is under the responsibility of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, which is the body that maintains it and that will answer a formal question about its interpretation.

How a Chinese national standard is set out

Chinese national standards are drafted to the rules of GB/T 1.1, which fixes the order in which a standard is set out. The same order is used by every GB standard, so a reader who knows one knows where to look in any other:

Foreword — the issuing bodies, the relationship to any previous edition, the technical committee responsible for the document, and the list of the organisations that drafted it.

1 Scope — what the document covers and what it does not, and the products, activities or materials it applies to.

2 Normative references — the other standards that have to be applied together with this one. A dated reference means that edition only; an undated one means the latest edition, amendments included.

3 Terms and definitions — the vocabulary that decides how the requirements are read. Definitions are either written out or taken from another standard, with the source printed after them.

4 and onwards, the technical clauses — the requirements themselves, then the test or measurement methods by which conformity is established, then the inspection rules that say how a lot is sampled and judged, and, for a product standard, the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage. How many clauses there are, and how they are divided into subclauses, depends on the document.

Annexes — normative when they carry requirements, informative when they carry guidance, lettered A, B, C in the order they are first cited in the text.

Bibliography — the documents referred to for information only, which are not part of the requirements.
