Scope

GB/T 25732-2010 is the English-translated version of 粮油机械 液压榨油机.

China's national standard for hydraulic oil presses. It specifies the types and basic parameters, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of hydraulic presses used to express oil from oilseeds. The hydraulic press is the oldest mechanical method of extracting oil and it survives alongside the screw press and solvent extraction because it does something neither does. It presses a batch slowly at very high pressure, without the shear and the frictional heating of a screw, and it can be run cold. That matters for the oils whose value is in what heat destroys: sesame, walnut, camellia, perilla and the other speciality oils are cold-pressed for the flavour and the minor components that a hot process degrades, and the residual cake retains protein quality that heat would denature. The press cannot compete on yield - it leaves considerably more oil in the cake than a screw press or solvent extraction, and it is a batch machine with a slow cycle - so it is used where the product commands the premium that pays for that. What the standard specifies follows from the mechanics. The pressing pressure and the hydraulic system that produces it, the cage or plate arrangement that holds the charge while letting the oil drain, and the drainage itself, which determines how much oil actually leaves. The pressing cycle and the rate of pressure rise, since applying pressure too fast seals the outer layer and traps the oil inside. And the safety, because a hydraulic press stores a great deal of energy in a compressed cake and a cage that fails releases it. Issued on 23 December 2010 and in force since 1 March 2011.

1 Scope

China's national standard for hydraulic oil presses. It specifies the types and basic parameters, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of hydraulic presses used to express oil from oilseeds. The hydraulic press is the oldest mechanical method of extracting oil and it survives alongside the screw press and solvent extraction because it does something neither does. This standard specifies the relevant terms and definitions hydraulic press, working principle, classification, model and basic parameters, technical requirements, test side Method, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements. This standard applies to the total pressure of not more than 20t batch hydraulic press.
