Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 24722-2009 "Glass Beads for Road Marking". Compared with GB/T 24722-2009, except for editorial changes The main technical changes are as follows:

---Modified the definitions of sprinkled glass beads, premixed glass beads, and coated glass beads (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3);

---Added the terms and definitions of defective glass beads and rainy night glass beads (see 3.4, 3.5);

--- Deleted the classification of coated glass beads and ordinary glass beads (see 4.1.3 of the 2009 edition);

---According to the different particle size distribution, No. 4 glass beads are added (see 4.1.3);

---Modified the method of indicating the particle size of glass beads (see Table 1, Table 1 of the 2009 edition);

---Modified the product use of No. 2 glass beads (see 4.2.2, 4.2.2 of the 2009 edition);

---Added the use of No. 4 glass beads (see 4.2.4);

---Modified the technical requirements for appearance (see 5.1, 5.1 of the 2009 edition);

---Modified the technical requirements for the roundness rate, increased the technical requirements for the percentage of defective glass beads, and merged the two items into "roundness rate/ Percentage of defective glass beads" (see 5.2, 5.3 of the 2009 edition);

--- Added reference selection rules for glass beads with suitable particle size distribution (see 5.3);

---Modified the technical requirements for density (see 5.4, 5.4 of the 2009 edition);

--- Modify the requirements of waterproof coating to moisture-proof coating performance (see 5.8, 6.10, 5.8, 6.10 of the 2009 edition)

---Added the technical requirements for lead content (see 5.9);

---Added the technical requirements for arsenic content (see 5.10);

---The technical requirements for antimony content have been added (see 5.11);

---Modified the preparation of the sample (see 6.1, 6.1 of the 2009 edition);

--- Deleted the schematic diagram of the two splitter structure (see Figure 1 in the 2009 edition);

---Modified the test working temperature (see 6.2, 6.2 of the 2009 edition);

---The test method for the percentage of defective glass beads has been added (see 6.4.2);

--- Added particle size tester method for testing particle size distribution (see 6.5.2);

---Modified the immersion method for refractive index test (see 6.7.1, 6.7 of the 2009 edition);

--- Added secondary rainbow method for refractive index test (see 6.7.2);

---Added the lead content test method (see 6.11);

---Added arsenic content test method (see 6.12);

---Added the antimony content test method (see 6.13);

---Modified the inspection rules (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the 2009 edition);

---Modified the requirements of the logo (see 8.1, 8.1 of the 2009 edition);

---Modified the transportation requirements (see 8.3, 8.3 of the 2009 edition);

---Added the main defect form of glass beads (see Appendix A);

---Added No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 glass beads and other particle size distribution glass beads selection rules and test methods (see Appendix B);

---Revised the standard screen mesh size and mesh number comparison table (see Appendix C, Appendix A of the 2009 edition).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the product classification and use, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and signs and packages of glass beads for pavement marking. Requirements for loading, transportation and storage.

This standard applies to the production, inspection and use of glass beads for road marking paint.

2 Normative references

The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated reference documents, only the dated version applies to this document. For undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Surface sprinkled with glass beads

The pavement marking paint is applied to the pavement as an undried road traffic marking coating, and then the glass beads are sprinkled on it.

3.2 Premix glass beads

The glass beads evenly mixed in the road marking paint product.

3.3 Coated glass beads

In order to improve the performance of glass beads, surface treatment is used to make glass beads with functions such as moisture proof, suspension and viscosity increase.

Note: The moisture-proof function is used to prevent glass beads from absorbing moisture in the air; after the glass beads are spread on the road marking paint, the suspension function can prevent the glass beads from sinking too much deep; after the glass beads are spread on the road marking paint, the adhesion-increasing function can enhance the bonding performance of the glass beads and the road marking paint.

3.4 Defective glass beads

The main defects are elliptical, satellite, tearing, melting, slightly rounded, opaque, milky white, glass beads containing bubbles, grains or foreign particles (not Including glass bead assembly).

3.5 Glass beads for rainy night

Glass beads or glass bead aggregates with good retroreflective properties under dry, humid or continuous rain night conditions.
