Scope
GB/T 24101-2018 is the English-translated version of 染料产品中4-氨基偶氮苯的限量及测定.
GB/T 24101-2018 sets a limit for 4-aminoazobenzene in dye products and the methods for measuring it. The content must not exceed 150 mg/kg, with liquid dyes and pigment pastes converted to their solid content.
The reference method is gas chromatography-mass spectrometry: the dye is reductively cleaved with sodium dithionite in a weakly alkaline medium under controlled temperature and time so that the azo bond of 4-aminoazobenzene stays intact, and the compound is extracted, concentrated and quantified by the external standard method on characteristic ions.
This edition adds high performance liquid chromatography as a second method. It applies to commercial dyes, dye products, dye intermediates and textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries.
It replaces GB/T 24101-2009, was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 24101-2009 "Limits and determination of 4-aminoazobenzene in dye products", and GB/T 24101-2009 In contrast to the editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Added high performance liquid chromatography for the determination of 4-aminoazobenzene (see 4.2).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the limit requirements and determination methods for 4-aminoazobenzene (see Appendix A) in dye products.
This standard applies to the limit and determination of 4-aminoazobenzene in commercial dyes, dye products, dye intermediates and textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries.

3 Requirements
The content of 4-aminoazobenzene (see Appendix A) in dye products should be <=150mg/kg, among which liquid dyes and paint colors in dye products The limit of the 4-aminoazobenzene of the pulp should be converted according to its solid content.
4 Test methods
4.1 Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (arbitration method)
4.1.1 Principle
The dye sample is reductively cleaved with sodium dithionite in a weakly alkaline medium, and the 4-aminoazo is controlled by controlling the pyrolysis temperature and the cleavage time.
The azo bond of benzene is not broken; the 4-aminoazobenzene in the cleavage solution is extracted with a solvent, and after concentration, it is detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Measured, characteristic ion external standard method for quantification.
4.1.2 Determination method
4.1.2.1 General provisions
Unless otherwise specified, only analytically pure reagents and tertiary water as specified in GB/T 6682-2008 are used. Judgment of test results It shall be carried out according to the 4.3.3 repair value comparison method in GB/T 8170-2008.
4.1.2.2 Reagents and solutions
4.1.2.2.1 Sodium chloride.
