Scope
GB/T 23670-2025 is the English-translated version of CLT酸(2-氨基-4-甲基-5-氯苯磺酸).
GB/T 23670-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering a dye intermediate — the assay and the moisture, the insolubles and the ash, the appearance, and the chromatographic purity that matters because the impurities carry straight through into the shade of the pigment made from it. It replaces GB/T 23670-2016, under the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. In force from 1 March 2026. Issued on 29 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 March 2026, replacing GB/T 23670-2016.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 23670-2016 "2-Amino-4-methyl-5-chlorobenzenesulfonic acid (CLT acid)" and is consistent with GB/T 23670-2016.
In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The quality requirements for moisture have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the 2016 edition);
b) The expression of sampling requirements and sampling volume have been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of the 2016 edition);
c) The assessment method for appearance has been changed (see 6.2, 5.2 of the 2016 edition);
d) Added the atomic absorption determination method for iron ions (see 6.8.4);
e) The re-inspection content has been changed (see 7.3, 6.3 of the 2016 edition).
