Scope
GB/T 23519-2023 is the English-translated version of 三苯基膦氯化铑.
GB/T 23519-2023 is the Chinese national standard for chlorotris(triphenylphosphine)rhodium - Wilkinson's catalyst, the rhodium complex used for homogeneous hydrogenation and hydroformylation.
It specifies the designation, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, the marking, packaging, transport and storage, the subsequent inspection, and the content of the ordering document.
It applies to the product used for reaction catalysis in petrochemicals, fine chemicals, synthetic pharmaceuticals and similar industries, where the rhodium content and the level of impurities decide both the price and the performance of the catalyst.
It was issued on 28 December 2023 and has been in force since 1 July 2024, replacing GB/T 23519-2009.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
This document replaces GB/T 23519-2009 "Triphenylphosphine rhodium chloride". Compared with GB/T 23519-2009, except for structural adjustment and compilation In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Added labeling of triphenylphosphine rhodium chloride (see Chapter 4);
b) Added the molecular formula and structural formula of triphenylphosphine rhodium chloride (see 4.1);
c) The upper limit of the content of impurity elements Fe, Ni, and Pb has been changed, and the Fe content has been changed from no more than 0.002% to no more than 0.005%;
Change the Pb content from no more than 0.003% to no more than 0.002%; change the Ni content from no more than 0.005% to no more At 0.002% (see 5.1, 3.1.2 of the 2009 edition), the control indicators of impurity elements such as Mg, Zn, Mn are added (see 5.1);
d) Added requirements and test methods for the mass fraction of triphenylphosphine rhodium chloride (see 5.1, 6.1.1 and Appendix A);
e) The solubility test was changed to the mass fraction of toluene-insoluble matter, and the test method was added (see 5.2, 6.2 and Appendix B, 2009 version 3.2, 4.3);
f) The determination method of rhodium mass fraction has been changed, changing "measurement according to YS/T 561" to "measurement according to the provisions of GB/T 34609.1" (See 6.1.2, 4.1 of the 2009 edition);
g) The method for measuring the mass fraction of impurity elements has been changed, changing "measured according to YS/T 363" to "according to the provisions of GB/T 34609.2 "Proceed" (see 6.1.3, 4.2 of the 2009 version);
h) It is added that the numerical values of the inspection results are rounded according to the provisions of GB/T 8170, and the rounded value comparison method is used to determine (see 7.5.1);
i) Added requirements for product packaging markings. Product packaging box markings should comply with the provisions of GB/T 190 (see 8.1.2);
j) Added the requirement that the water quality used for determining the mass fraction of triphenylphosphine rhodium chloride should comply with the provisions of first-class water in GB/T 6682 (see A 2).
