Scope

GB/T 26308-2026 is the English-translated version of 回收银原料.

GB/T 26308-2026 is a standard for recycled silver raw material, covering silver that is recovered and sorted for reuse. It sets out the categories and sources of the material, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and accompanying documents and order details.

This edition replaces the earlier division into solid and liquid with five categories of raw material. It applies to silver and silver alloy raw materials that are initially classified and recycled in the precious metals industry.

Its normative references include methods for chemical analysis of silver and related materials. Issued on 2 July 2026 and applicable from 1 February 2027, it replaces GB/T 26308-2010.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document replaces GB/T 26308-2010 "Classification and Technical Conditions for Silver Waste". Compared with GB/T 26308-2010, the main differences are in the structural design.

Aside from integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The scope of application of the document has been changed to "applicable to enterprises engaged in domestic and international trade, as well as those involved in the smelting of recycled non-ferrous metals and the processing of precious metals." The phrase "silver waste" has been changed to "applicable to the recycling of silver raw materials (including primary silver resources from mining, beneficiation, smelting, manufacturing, and use of silver-containing products)".

The classification, recycling, and trade of biological materials (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2010 edition);

b) The categories and sources of raw materials have been changed, transforming the two major categories of solid and liquid into five categories (see Chapter 4, 2010 edition, page 3). chapter);

d) A requirement has been added that different categories of recycled silver raw materials should not be mixed together (see 5.2);

e) Increased limits and test methods for radioactive contaminants in recovered silver raw materials (see 5.3 and 6.2);

f) The requirement for "degreasing, cleaning, and carbon removal" of "silver-containing waste catalysts" has been removed (see section 4.2 of the 2010 edition);

g) The requirement for "supplier inspection" for "waste containing flammable, explosive, or other hazardous chemicals" has been removed (see 4.3 in the 2010 version);

h) The inspection methods and test items for appearance quality have been added (see 6.1 and 7.3);

i) Added testing standards for different categories of recycled silver raw materials (see 6.3);

j) The sampling requirements have been changed from "to be agreed upon by the supplier and the buyer" to "different standards shall be applied to different categories of recycled silver raw materials". (See 7.4, 6.4 in the 2010 edition);

k) Changes were made to the markings, packaging, transport and storage, and accompanying documentation (see Chapter 8, Chapter 7 of the 2010 edition);

l) The purchase order details have been changed (see Chapter 9, Chapter 8 in the 2010 edition).
