GB/T 23334-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the escape hatch in a bus roof — the clear opening size, the force and the direction needed to open it from inside and from outside, the operation after a rollover when the hatch may be the only way out, the marking and the instructions, and the strength and weathertightness tests. It replaces GB/T 23334-2009, under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In force from 1 March 2026. Issued on 29 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 March 2026, replacing GB/T 23334-2009.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 23334-2009 "Openable Passenger Vehicle Safety Top Window". Compared with GB/T 23334-2009, except for the structural adjustment Besides the editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The definition of openable passenger car safety roof window has been changed (see 3.1, 3.1 of the 2009 edition);
b) Added a schematic diagram of the main components of the safety roof window (see Figure 1);
c) The movement mode of the safety top window has been deleted (see 5.4 of the 2009 edition);
d) Added the requirement that safety top windows should have operating devices (see 5.1.2);
e) The emergency exit sign requirements have been modified (see 5.1.3, 5.5 of the 2009 edition);
f) The standards for the opening dimensions of safety roof windows have been changed (see 5.1.4, 5.6 of the 2009 edition);
g) Changed the ambient temperature requirements for safety roof windows (see 5.2.1, 5.3 of the 2009 edition);
h) Changed the opening time and operating force requirements for emergency exits of safety roof windows (see 5.2.2, 5.9 of the 2009 edition);
i) Changed the performance requirements for safety skylight motors (see 5.2.3, 5.11 of the 2009 edition);
j) Changed the electromagnetic disturbance performance requirements for safety roof windows (see 5.2.9 and 5.18 of the 2009 edition);
k) Changed the combustion characteristics requirements for non-metallic materials of safety roof windows (see 5.2.10, 5.10 of the 2009 edition);
l) Changed the standards for contact resistance and insertion force of low-voltage connectors for safety roof windows with ventilation fans (see 5.2.12, 2009) Version 5.19);
m) Added requirements for ventilation fan integrated purification devices (see 5.2.13);
n) Changed the ambient temperature requirements for the working environment adaptability test (see 6.1, 6.1 of the 2009 edition);
o) The test method for the opening time and operating force of the emergency exit of the safety roof window has been changed (see 6.2, 6.2 of the 2009 edition);
p) Added motor performance test method (see 6.3);
q) Added electromagnetic disturbance characteristics test method (see 6.9);
r) Added the standard for the combustion characteristics of non-metallic materials of safety roof windows (see 6.10);
s) Added low-voltage wiring harness test method (see 6.12);
t) Added the test method for ventilation fan integrated purification device (see 6.13);
u) Added inspection items (see 7.3).
