Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 22704-2008 "Code of Practice for the Design and Production of Children's Clothing to Improve Mechanical Safety", and The main technical changes compared with GB/T 22704-2008 are as follows:

---Modified and supplemented the words "filler", "foreign body", "risk assessment", "mechanical danger" and "glued tape", adding "infant and child" Terms and definitions of "child", "pocket ball", "tassel", "laying", "appliance", "label", "magnet" and "magnetic parts" (see Chapter 3,.2008 edition) Chapter 3);

--- Revised and supplemented information on mechanical hazards and risks (see Chapter 4, Appendix A of the.2008 edition);

--- Increased risk assessment requirements (see Chapter 5);

--- Revised and supplemented the general principles of clothing design, materials and structure (see 6.1,

1 Scope

GB/T 22704-2019 is the Chinese national standard on code of practice for the design and manufacture of children's clothing to promote mechanical safety, in the field of clothing industry. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 18 October 2019 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2020. This standard specifies the terms and definitions, mechanical hazards and risks, and wind for the design and production of infants and children aged 14 and under. Risk assessment, apparel design, materials and structures, production, materials, clothing inspection and testing, packaging, labeling and display. This standard applies to the design and production of clothing for infants and children aged 14 and under, and should be adopted from the design stage. This standard does not apply to the following.

---Child care products, such as bibs, diapers and pacifiers;

--- Shoes, boots and shoes similar items;

--- Toys and other items sold with clothing;

--- Functional clothing designed to meet the needs of special children.

3 Terms and definitions

GB/T 15557, GB/T 18746, GB/T 22705 and GB/T 28490 and the following terms and definitions apply to this file.

3.1 Infant baby babyandinfant Children aged 36 months and younger.

Note. Generally refers to children with a height of 100cm or less.
