Scope

GB/T 21651-2018 is the English-translated version of 再生锌及锌合金锭.

GB/T 21651-2018 is the Chinese national standard for zinc and zinc alloy ingots made from secondary material.

It sets the requirements - the grades and their chemical composition, the shape and mass of the ingot and its surface condition - and then the test methods, the inspection rules, the marking, packaging, transport and storage, the quality certificate that travels with the lot and what an order or contract has to state.

It applies to ingots produced by smelting and refining zinc scrap, used for galvanising, for die casting alloys and for zinc chemicals. Secondary smelters and their customers use it to agree on a grade.

It replaces GB/T 21651-2008, was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 June 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 21651-2008 "Recycled Zinc Alloy Ingot". Compared with GB/T 21651-2008, except editorial modification To change as follows.

---The standard name was changed from "Recycled Zinc Alloy Ingot" to "Recycled Zinc and Zinc Alloy Ingot";

--- Increased regenerative zinc ingots, regenerative zinc alloy ingots for hot-plating, and increased the corresponding chemical composition requirements (see 4.1, 4.2);

---Modified the chemical composition of ZSZnAl4, ZSZnAl4Cu0.5, ZSZnAl4Cu1 grades in reclaimed zinc alloy ingots for casting (see 4.2.2);

--- Increased the grade of ZSZnAl4Cu0.2 for reclaimed zinc alloy ingots for casting (see 4.2.2);

---Add other requirements (see 4.5);

--- Added order form (or contract) content (see Chapter 8).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates of recycled zinc and zinc alloy ingots.

And the contents of the order form (or contract).

This standard is applicable to regenerated zinc and zinc alloy ingots produced by smelting and processing of zinc secondary materials. Used for galvanizing, casting, alloying, Chemical, electrical and other fields.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Zinc secondary material

A zinc-containing material that is distinguished from zinc minerals that naturally occur in nature.

Note: The zinc secondary materials include three types. The first category is zinc-associated lead ore, copper ore and iron-bearing materials produced during the production of lead, copper and iron.

Such as lead slag slag, copper soot, blast furnace gas ash (mud). The second category is zinc-containing waste produced during the use of zinc-containing products, including the use of hot-dip galvanizing.

The galvanizing slag generated during the anti-corrosion hot-dip plating of steel is produced by using the electroplating mud generated during zinc plating and pressing the finished product with a zinc alloy ingot for casting.

Containing zinc residue, etc. The third category is scrapped zinc-containing end-consumer products such as brass alloys, cast alloy products, dry battery shells and galvanized scrap in recycling.

During the smelting process, the zinc in the galvanized layer of the steel is volatilized in a gaseous state and the soot collected by the flue gas entering the dust collecting system.

3.2 Recycled zinc ingot regeneratedzincingots

Fully adopting various zinc secondary materials, generating yin by processes other than fluorine, enrichment, leaching, purification, electrowinning, etc., independent of the original zinc ore smelting
