1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical measures to combat desertification and its requirements.

This standard applies to all types of prevention and treatment of desertified land.

Unless otherwise specified, the contents of this standard refers to methods and technical requirements without irrigation conditions.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

3.1

In all weather conditions, due to a variety of reasons for the formation of surface rendering with sand (gravel) material as the main feature of the process of land degradation.

3.2

Desertification has obvious characteristics of degraded land.

3.3

Vegetation cover less than 10%, a strong sandstorm activity, surface sand material highly mobile sand.

Vegetation cover more than 30%, the ground has obvious crust, sandstorm activity is weak, sand the surface material does not substantially flow of sand.

Vegetation cover between 10% to 30%, relatively strong ground often thin crusts, wind activity, local sand material flowing sand.

By protecting, restoring natural vegetation and construction of artificial vegetation to prevent erosion, sand barrier and fixed technical measures.

For plants with reproduction and growth of desertified land development conditions, by taking banned artificial means to protect or promote so as to restore vegetation
