Scope

GB/T 20626.2-2018 is the English-translated version of 特殊环境条件 高原电工电子产品 第2部分:选型和检验规范.

GB/T 20626.2-2018 is part 2 of the Chinese standard on electrical and electronic products for plateau (high-altitude) environments, covering how such products are selected and inspected.

It sets out selection requirements, inspection specifications, marking, and packaging, transport and storage. It applies to high and low voltage electrical and electronic products used at altitudes from 1000 m to 5000 m, and for low-voltage apparatus and switchgear to altitudes above 2000 m up to 5000 m.

The environmental parameters follow GB/T 14597, and the selection requirements cover plateau-type products, conventional products complying with GB/T 20626.1, and technical requirements from temperature rise and external insulation to lightning, condensation and pollution.

Informative annexes describe the main effects of plateau conditions on products and the protection they need. It replaces GB/T 20626.2-2006, was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.
