Scope

GB/T 20222-2025 is the English-translated version of 防复印技术产品通用技术条件.

GB/T 20222-2025 is the Chinese national standard for anti-copying technology products, the identification products made so that they do not reproduce properly when they are photocopied.

It gives the categories of such products, the requirements they have to meet and the way a result is assessed, and it describes the corresponding test methods; an informative annex rates the copying effect obtained.

It applies to products that rely on anti-copy materials, on anti-copy pattern design and on photocopy detection under visible light, and it takes the spectral measurement and colorimetric calculation of GB/T 19437 and the colour copying equipment of GB/T 29793-2013.

Printers of documents and certificates and evaluation centres use it. It replaces GB/T 20222-2006, was issued on 1 August 2025 and has applied since 1 February 2026.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 20222-2006 "General Technical Requirements for Anti-copying Products". Compared with GB/T 20222-2006, In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) "Classification" has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the 2006 edition);

b) "Requirements" has been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 2006 edition);

c) The "Test Methods" has been changed (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the 2006 edition);

d) "Result Assessment" has been modified (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the 2006 edition);

e) "Testing Rules" has been deleted (see Chapter 8 of the 2006 edition);

f) Deleted "Appendix AE Sight Sign Structure" (see Appendix A of the 2006 edition);

g) Deleted "Appendix B Method for Preparing E-Shaped Visual Chart for Anti-copying Test Sample" (see Appendix B of the 2006 edition).

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification, requirements, and results assessment methods for anti-copying technology products and describes the corresponding test methods.

This document applies to identification technology products that utilize anti-copy materials, anti-copy pattern designs, and photocopy-detection capabilities under visible light conditions.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Anti-copying

Prevent imitation and reproduction by photocopying.

3.2 Anti-copying techniques

Technology that prevents copying and duplication by photocopying.

3.3 Anti-copying technology products

Products with anti-copying function made by using anti-copying technology (3.2) for the purpose of preventing copying.

3.4 Original

Objects used for copying.

3.5 Copying device

Equipment used to recreate or restore an original (3.4).

Note: Such as copiers, multi-function printers, etc.

3.6 Copy

A copy of the original (3.4).

3.7 Anti-copying effect

After the anti-copying technology (3.2) is applied, the original document is protected from being copied and reproduced by copying.
