Scope

GB/T 19557.5-2017 is the English-translated version of 植物品种特异性、一致性和稳定性测试指南 大白菜.

GB/T 19557.5-2017 is the Chinese guideline for testing the distinctness, uniformity and stability of Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. pekinensis) varieties.

It sets out the technical requirements for these tests and the general principles for judging their results, including the requirements for the propagating material, the test methods, the assessment of distinctness, uniformity and stability, and the grouping characteristics.

Normative annexes give the table of characteristics, its explanation and the technical questionnaire for applicants. It defines the ways characteristics are observed, from single measurement of a group of plants to individual visual assessment, and refers to GB/T 19557.1 and UPOV guideline TG/105/4.

Plant variety testing centres and breeders use it. It replaces GB/T 19557.5-2004, was issued on 1 November 2017 and has applied since 1 May 2018.
