Scope
GB/T 19232-2019 is the English-translated version of 风机盘管机组.
GB/T 19232-2019 is the Chinese national standard for fan coil units. It covers terms and definitions, classification and labelling, general requirements, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of the unit.
It applies to units fed with externally supplied chilled or hot water whose supply air volume does not exceed 3400 m³/h and whose external static pressure does not exceed 120 Pa.
Units are classified by structure, installation method, water connection side, external static pressure, application type, motor type and pipe system, each with its own code letter, and the three annexes give the test methods for air volume, for cooling and heating capacity and for noise.
It replaces GB/T 19232-2003, was issued on 30 August 2019 and has applied since 1 July 2020.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Fan coil unit
The basic configuration of air handling equipment includes fans, coils, motors, condensate pans, etc. Depending on the usage requirements, additional accessories such as controllers, drainage and air-blocking devices, air filters and purification devices, air inlet and outlet ducts, and air inlet and outlet distributors can be configured.
3.2 Rated value
The basic performance values of the unit under the test conditions specified in the standard.
3.3 Nominal value
The values marked on the product nameplate and product sample.
3.4 Rated air volume flow rate
The volumetric air flow rate delivered by the unit per unit time under the test conditions specified in the standard.
NOTE: Unit is m³/h.
3.5 Rated cooling capacity
The total cooling capacity measured by the unit under the test conditions specified in the standard is the sum of sensible heat and latent heat.
NOTE: The unit is W or kW.
3.6 Rated heating capacity
The total sensible heat output of the unit measured under the test conditions specified in the
4 Classification and Labeling
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 According to structural form, they can be divided into horizontal, vertical, cassette, and wall-mounted types, designated by "W", "L", "K", and "B", respectively.
4.1.2 According to installation method, they can be divided into surface-mounted and concealed-mounted types, designated by "M" and "A", respectively.
4.1.3 According to inlet and outlet water orientation, they can be divided into left-hand and right-hand types (facing the unit's air outlet, the supply and return water pipes are on the left and right sides respectively), designated by "Z" and "Y", respectively.
4.1.4 According to external static pressure, they can be divided into low static pressure type and high static pressure type. The code for low static pressure type is omitted; and the code for high static pressure type is "G + external static pressure value".
NOTE: For low static pressure units with accessories such as air outlets and filters, the default external static pressure is 0 Pa; for low static pressure units without accessories such as air outlets and filters, the default external static pressure is 12 Pa. High static pressure units are tested without air outlets and filters.
4.1.5 According to application type, they can be divided into general-purpose unit, dry fan coil unit, and heating fan coil unit. The code for general-purpose is omitted; the codes for dry fan coil unit and heating fan coil unit are "G" and "R", respectively.
4.1.6 According to motor type, they can be divided into AC motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors. The code for AC motors is omitted; the code for permanent magnet synchronous motors is "YC".
4.1.7 According to the type of pipe system, it can be divided into two-pipe system (one coil for a single water system, used for both cooling and heating) and four-pipe system (two coils for two separate water systems, one for cooling and one for heating). The code for two-pipe system is "2 (number of coil rows)"; and the code for four-pipe system is "4 (number of cold water coil rows + number of hot water coil rows)".
4.2 Labeling
EXAMPLE: A horizontal, concealed, left-hand water inlet, high static pressure 50Pa, AC motor, two-pipe system, three-row fan coil unit for general-purpose with a rated air volume flow rate of 680m³/h, labeled as FP-68WA-Z-2(3)-G50.
5 General Requirements
5.1 The unit shall be in accordance with the provisions of this standard and shall be manufactured according to the drawings and technical documents approved through the prescribed procedures.
5.2 The unit's structure shall meet the following requirements.
a) The length and slope of the condensate pan shall ensure unobstructed condensate drainage and that condensate from the unit drips into the pan;
b) The unit shall be equipped with an air venting device at a location that effectively removes trapped air from the coils;
c) For units with special functions (such as antibacterial, sterilization, purification, etc.), the components enabling these functions shall meet the requirements of relevant national regulations and standards;

5.3 The unit's adjustment characteristics shall meet the following requirements.
a) AC motor units and permanent magnet synchronous motor units shall be able to adjust the air volume flow rate. When three air volume flow rate levels (high, medium, and low) are provided, the ratio of the three levels should be 1 : 0.75 : 0.5 of the rated air volume flow rate.
b) For permanent magnet synchronous motor units that do not have a default setting when leaving the factory, the highest level of air volume flow rate shall be used for testing.
5.4 The power supply for the unit shall be single-phase 220V, frequency 50Hz.
5.5 The unit materials shall meet the following requirements.
a) The materials used in the unit shall be free from rust and mildew, and the use of new materials that meet environmental protection requirements is encouraged;

d) When the unit uses cold-rolled steel plates for its panels and components, its inner and outer surfaces shall be effectively rust-proofed;
e) When the unit uses ferrous metal processed parts, the surfaces shall be hot-dip galvanized and effectively rust-proofed.
5.6 The rated values of the basic specifications of general-purpose units at high speeds shall meet the requirements of Tables 2 ~ 4, respectively. […]
