Scope

GB/T 18611-2015 is the English-translated version of 原油简易蒸馏试验方法.

This standard specifies a simple test method for the distillation of crude oil. Clause 1 applies it to crude oil whose water content as a mass fraction is not more than 0.5%, distilled up to the equivalent of 500 degrees Celsius at standard pressure.

Clause 3, Methods Summary, has the crude oil distilled in a simple apparatus at atmospheric pressure and then under vacuum with the fractions collected: the atmospheric boiling range runs from the initial boiling point to 200 degrees Celsius, the first vacuum cut is recommended at a pressure of 1.33 kPa up to 287.3 degrees Celsius, the equivalent of 450 degrees Celsius at standard pressure, and the second at 0.266 kPa up to 290.4 degrees Celsius, the equivalent of 500 degrees Celsius, while cutting temperatures and the matching pressures may also be set as the work requires.

Clause 4 names the one reagent, a solvent gasoline meeting the technical requirements of GB 1922-2006 for No. 1 low-aromatic paint and cleaning solvent oil.

Clause 5, Instruments, shows the simple distillation apparatus in Figures 1 and 2, with all the connecting parts of the glassware made as spherical interfaces, and begins to list its parts: a 500 mL heat-resistant glass distillation flask with the distillate manifold at the upper part of the bottleneck, three glass claws at the bottom of the bottleneck to support the filler, an insulating sleeve about 5 mm thick outside the bottleneck and a bottleneck of 29 mm to 31 mm inner diameter and 250 mm to 260 mm length, and a thermowell about 65 mm long with an inner diameter of about 8 mm; the draft breaks off in the middle of this list.

The foreword records that the connections were changed from the standard ground type to the spherical interface, that a magnetic stirring function was added to the technical requirements for the electric heating mantle, that the cutting temperature conversion table was modified, that atmospheric pressure correction of the cutting temperature and a cleansing provision were added, that the liquid temperature in the flask for vacuum distillation was changed from 150 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius, and that a Quality Assurance and Control chapter was added as clause 9.

A warning at the head of the text states that the user shall have regular laboratory experience, that the standard does not point out all possible safety issues, and that users are responsible for appropriate safety and health practices and for compliance with the relevant national regulations.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 514-2005, GB/T 1884, GB 1922-2006, GB/T 4756, GB/T 27867, SH/T 0604 and SY/T 6520. It replaces GB/T 18611-2001, was issued on October 9, 2015 and has applied since April 1, 2016.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.

This standard replaces GB/T 18611-2001 "simple test method for distillation of crude oil," compared with the GB/T 18611-2001, Technical Changes are as follows.

--- Normative references removed GB/T 2538, an increase of GB/T 1884, GB/T 27867, SH/T 0604 (see para. Chapter 2);

--- Increasing the content "when the corresponding pressure conditions may be issued is less than the desired temperature point lower pressure" (see Chapter 3);

--- Removed using common components and the corresponding nitrogen (see 2001 edition of Sections 4 and 5.8);

--- The "standard ground" connection changed to "spherical Interface" connection (see 51, 2001 edition of Chapter 5);

--- On the "electric heating mantle," adds function with magnetic stirring of technical requirements (see 5.1 h, 2001 edition 5.9);

--- Modify the cutting temperature conversion table (see Chapter 6);

--- Increasing the cutting temperature atmospheric pressure correction content (see 8.1.2);

--- The bottle when the liquid temperature vacuum distillation from the "150 °C" changed to "70 °C" (see 8.2.3 and 824, 2001 edition of 8.2.1.);

--- Increase the "cleansing" of content (see 8.3);

--- Added "Quality Assurance and Control" (see Chapter 9).

1 Scope

This standard specifies a simple test method for distillation of crude oil.

This standard applies to water content (mass fraction) of not more than 0.5% of the crude oil distillation at standard pressure equivalent to 500 °C.
