Scope

GB/T 17475-2020 is the English-translated version of 重烃类混合物蒸馏试验 真空釜式蒸馏法.

GB/T 17475-2020 is the Chinese test method for the distillation of heavy hydrocarbon mixtures by the vacuum potstill method. It gives the terms and definitions, the summary of the method, the apparatus, the sampling, the preparation of the apparatus, the test procedure, the calculation, the report, and the precision and bias.

It applies to heavy crude oils, petroleum distillates, residues and synthetic oils with an initial boiling point above 150 °C and a final boiling point below 565 °C, and may be used to prepare gas oil, lubricating oil distillates and bitumen feed.

Refineries and petroleum laboratories use it. Issued on 31 March 2020, it has applied since 1 October 2020, replacing GB/T 17475-1998.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 17475-1998 "Test Method for Distillation of Heavy Hydrocarbon Mixtures (Vacuum Pot Distillation Method)". This standard and Compared with GB/T 17475-1998, in addition to editorial changes, the main changes are as follows.

---Added requirements on the accuracy, type and calibration rules of the temperature sensor (see 5.5.4);

---Added content, describing the types of pressure sensors that can be used during the test and the calibration requirements of pressure sensors (See 5.5.6);

--- Added the dynamic pressure reduction program described (see 8.12);

--- Added a stepped pressure reduction program (see 8.6, 8.18);

---Added a description of the situation that the distillation needs to be stopped immediately (see 8.20);

---Modified Appendix B about the temperature and pressure sensor calibration content (see Appendix B B.2, B.3, 1998 edition Appendix B, Appendix C);

---Revised part of the marked content in Figure B.1 (see Figure B.1, 1998 layout B.1);

---Modified the formula (D.1), formula (D.2), formula (D.3), formula (D.4), and formula (D.5) in Appendix D regarding the conversion of the observation temperature under reduced pressure to constant Press down the content of the corresponding temperature and the content of formula (D.6) in Appendix D, and modify the definition of D in formula (D.6) (see Appendix D, Appendix E) of the 1998 edition.

Introduction

This standard is one of the test methods that guide refineries or traders to characterize the characteristics of heavy hydrocarbon mixtures. It provides an estimate of the range of different boiling points. Method to determine the yield of confined fractions.

The fractions obtained in this standard can be used alone or in combination with other fractions to prepare samples for analysis, research and quality assessment.

Warning---Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. The use of this standard may involve certain dangerous For materials, equipment and operations, this standard does not point out all possible safety issues. The user is responsible for taking appropriate safety and health measures And ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated by relevant national laws and regulations.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method summary, equipment, sampling, equipment preparation, and test procedures for the distillation test of heavy hydrocarbon mixtures by the vacuum still distillation method. Steps, calculation of results, reporting, precision and deviation.

This standard is applicable to heavy hydrocarbon mixtures such as heavy crude oil, petroleum distillate and residual oil with an initial boiling point higher than 150°C and a final boiling point lower than 565°C And the distillation process of synthetic oil. The preparation of gas oil and lubricating oil distillate samples can refer to this standard. This standard can also be used to prepare production bitumen Green residual oil, but not always suitable, the long-term thermal cracking that occurred in this test may change some of its properties.

Note 1. The maximum cutting temperature is related to the heating limit of the sample. For most samples, 565°C is the highest cutting temperature that can be reached, but for heat sensitive For sensitive samples, the maximum cutting temperature will be significantly lower than 565°C. Similarly, for heat-insensitive samples, the maximum cutting temperature can be slightly higher than 565°C.

Note 2. The test method specified in GB/T 17280 can also be used for the distillation of crude oil before the cutting point 400°C. But with the distillation curve obtained using this standard And the properties of the distillate are not directly comparable.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Boil-uprate

The amount of steam entering the distillation head per unit time.

Note: The evaporation rate is approximately equal to the distillation rate, and the difference is caused by heat loss. When the evaporation rate is given the inner diameter of the distillation head, it is generally used in milliliters per hour The number (mL/h) is expressed. Sometimes for the sake of comparison, it is also expressed in milliliters per square centimeter per hour [mL/(h·cm2)].

3.2 Condense

It is connected with the outlet of the distillation head, where the distillate is condensed.
