Scope

GB/T 16902.4-2017 is the English-translated version of 设备用图形符号表示规则 第4部分:图形符号用作图标的重绘指南.

GB/T 16902.4-2017 explains how graphical symbols for use on equipment are redrawn as icons for device screens and displays.

It sets four principles for the adaptation - consistency, recognizability, compatibility and coordination - and then gives guidance on icon size, the position of the image in its cell, line drawing, icons for different resolutions or media, filled areas, arrows, combined icons and the orientation of icons.

A further clause covers how icons are shown: normal, selected, animated and dynamic. Annex A gives examples of equipment symbols redrawn as icons, and the terms anti-aliasing and default are defined.

It is used by designers of equipment interfaces alongside GB/T 16273, GB/T 5465 and ISO 7000. It replaces GB/T 16902.4-2010, was issued on 31 July 2017 and has applied since 1 February 2018.
