Scope
GB/T 46500.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 家用电器的人机交互 第1部分:通用要求.
GB/T 46500.1-2025 is the Chinese national standard that sets the general requirements for human-machine interaction in household and similar electrical appliances.
It is Part 1 of GB/T 46500, which is planned to continue with a part on the particular requirements for refrigerators, and it defines the terms used when a user and an appliance exchange information through buttons, touch, voice, images or gestures.
It gives the general and safety requirements and those on the apparatus, the roles, input and feedback, accessibility and availability, then describes the evaluation methods for availability and for the human-machine interaction level.
Annex A gives the calculation method for the naturalness indicators, covering ease of learning, contextual adaptability and smoothness. It guides the design, development and evaluation of such appliances. It was issued on 5 October 2025 and has applied since 1 May 2026.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
This document is Part 1 of GB/T 46500 "Human-Machine Interaction of Household Appliances". GB/T 46500 has already published the following parts.
---Part 1: General Requirements.
Introduction
The human-computer interaction methods of household and similar appliances are becoming increasingly diversified. Household appliances equipped with artificial intelligence technology are capable of autonomous service.
With increasingly complex human-computer interaction methods, such as functions like services and multimodal interaction, there is an urgent need for standardized follow-up and matching.
GB/T 46500 "Human-Machine Interaction of Household Appliances" is divided into several parts. This document is Part 1. Subsequent parts will be based on different user needs.
To meet the human-machine interaction requirements, more detailed and specific standards should be developed. Each part is related to Part 1, and together they constitute the human-machine interaction framework for home appliances.
GB/T 46500 "Human-computer interaction of household appliances" is proposed to consist of the following two parts.
---Part 1: General Requirements. The purpose is to standardize the general requirements for human-computer interaction in household appliances.
---Part 2: Special Requirements for Refrigerators. The purpose is to standardize the special requirements for human-machine interaction in refrigerators.
1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions related to human-computer interaction in household and similar appliances, specifies the relevant requirements, and describes the evaluation methods.
This document provides guidance for the design, development, and evaluation of human-computer interaction in household and similar electrical appliances (hereinafter referred to as "appliances").
