Scope
GB/T 41773-2022 is the English-translated version of 信息安全技术 步态识别数据安全要求.
GB/T 41773-2022 sets the security requirements that apply to gait recognition data in China.
It covers the whole handling of that data, from collection, storage and transmission to use, processing, provision, disclosure and deletion, and is addressed to the organisations that process gait recognition data, while regulators and third-party assessors can use it as a reference when they supervise or evaluate those organisations.
It defines gait recognition, the gait sample, the gait silhouette obtained by segmenting the sample and the gait feature extracted from it, describes the typical scenarios and the risks of each activity, and then gives basic requirements followed by one clause per activity.
Appendices list common risks and an example consent form. Issued on 14 October 2022, it has applied since 1 May 2023.

3.1 Gait recognition
A technology for identifying natural persons based on the biological characteristics and behavioral characteristics of natural persons contained in gait.
Note: In addition to the application scenarios of identification, gait recognition can also be used in non-identification application scenarios, such as behavior analysis, posture analysis or anomaly analysis.
3.2 Gait sample
Gait videos or image sequences of natural persons obtained through collection, preprocessing, etc.
Note: The gait sample contains the raw (cut) video or continuous image sequence of the gait cycle of a natural person, and contains information such as clothing, shoes and hats, and carrying objects.
3.3 Gait silhouettes
The sequence of gait samples after segmentation.
Note: After the gait sample is processed, the gait silhouette can be obtained, and it is also possible to obtain a sequence of human body parts segmentation images, a sequence of three-dimensional human body models, etc. Gait silhouette usually It is a black and white image, the body area is white, and the background area is black.
3.4 Gait feature
Data extracted from gait silhouettes for alignment.
