Scope

GB/T 16789-2019 is the English-translated version of 比长基线测量规范.

GB/T 16789-2019 specifies how a long baseline field is built and measured.

It covers the basic requirements of the field, that is precision, stability and design, the choice and marking of the site, the calibration of the measuring instruments, the measurement method over the baseline, the recording of the measurement data and its processing, and data collation and retesting.

It applies to the design, construction, measurement and accuracy assessment of long baseline fields, and it defines the standard baseline field, the Invar baseline ruler, the span and the catenary asymmetry correction.

Nine annexes give the design of the baseline segments, the styles of the ground marks and of the observation piers and bedrock piles, and the worked calculations and the uncertainty assessment.

It replaces GB 16789-1997, was issued on 25 March 2019 and has applied since 1 October 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB 16789-1997 "Specific Long Baseline Measurement Specification". Compared with GB 16789-1997, the main changes are as follows.

--- Modified the format of the original standard according to GB/T 1.1-2009;

--- Increased site and observation pier stability monitoring requirements and indicators, and defined indicators than the horizontal deviation of the long baseline field;

--- Added a chapter on the measurement of measurement data, and made provisions for recording methods, projects, requirements and inspections;

--- According to JJG306 to modify the rules of the inspection of the inch;

--- Revised the inspection content of the level gauge and the leveling ruler, and added reference documents;

--- Removed E5 from the original accuracy assessment;

--- Removed the original Appendix H tilt correction calculation (for 24m Invar line ruler);

--- The appendix newly added the 6m compensation scale comparison calculation and the uncertainty of the long baseline field measurement uncertainty evaluation.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements, site selection and embedding of the long baseline field, verification of measuring instruments, measurement methods, measurement data records, and measurement data processing, data collation and retesting requirements.

This standard applies to the design, construction, measurement and accuracy assessment of long baseline fields.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Standard baseline field

It consists of a number of landmarks located on a straight line, and the distance between adjacent points is traced back to the national length reference.

Note: It is used to verify the length measurement standard of measuring instruments such as total station, photoelectric range finder and GNSS receiver. It belongs to the national line number value transmission system. And other standard line gauges.

3.2 Invar baseline ruler

A wire or tape ruler made of Invar alloy having a temperature coefficient of linear expansion of less than 0.5 x 10^-6 ° C-1 is used.

Note: It is used for precision distance measurement and belongs to the second-class standard gauge in the national line value transmission system.

3.3 Span

The distance between two adjacent shaft heads or measuring points.

Note: The length is approximately equal to the measured base length of the Invar baseline.

3.4 Catenary asymmetry correction

In the baseline measurement, the length correction caused by the asymmetry of the catenary formed by the two adjacent shaft heads is not equal.
