Scope
GB/T 14372-2024 is the English-translated version of 危险品 爆炸品的认可和分项试验方法.
GB/T 14372-2024 specifies the test methods by which a substance or article is accepted into Class 1 of the dangerous goods classification and assigned to a division within it. This is the Chinese implementation of the UN test series 1 to 8, and it is the gateway to the whole transport regime for explosives: whether something is an explosive at all, whether it is too dangerous to transport in any form, which of the six divisions it belongs to, and which compatibility group. The consequences are commercial as much as regulatory, since a division 1.1 assignment and a division 1.4 assignment for the same article mean entirely different packaging, quantity limits, vehicle requirements and routes. The standard sets out the test series, the apparatus and the procedure for each test, the criteria by which the result is interpreted, and the decision logic that leads from the results to the classification. The 2024 edition replaces GB/T 14372-2013. For an explosives maker, a fireworks or airbag propellant producer, or an authority in China, this is the classification text.

This is the Chinese implementation of the UN test series 1 to 8, and it is the gateway to the whole transport regime for explosives: whether something is an explosive at all, whether it is too dangerous to transport in any form, which of the six divisions it belongs to, and which compatibility group.
This document specifies the tests required for the approval and classification of explosives and desensitized explosives (explosives and desensitized explosives specified in GB 14371) Principle of the method, instruments and materials, test conditions, test procedures and presentation of results. This document applies to the approval and sub-item testing of explosives and desensitized explosives.
