GB/T 13025.2-2008 is the second part of the Chinese national series of general test methods for the salt industry, and it gives the method for determining the whiteness of edible salt and of industrial salt.

It defines whiteness as the quantity characterising how white the colour of an object is, with a larger value meaning a greater degree of whiteness and the perfect reflecting diffuser taken as 100, and it goes on to a second term for blue-light brightness.

Its contents list covers the terms and definitions, the instruments and equipment, the test procedure and the presentation of results. The two documents it refers to are GB/T 9086 for the white standard plate used in colorimetry and photometry and JJG 512 for verifying the whiteness meter.
