1 Scope

GB 6442-2025 is the Chinese national standard on technical specifications for the investigation of work safety accidents, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 31 December 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 July 2026. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 A series of tasks were carried out to investigate the course of the accident, its causes, casualties, and direct economic losses, as well as to determine the nature of the accident and the responsibilities involved.

4 General Requirements

4.2 Accident investigation procedures are divided into general procedures and simplified procedures as stipulated. 4.3 After an accident, the accident scene should be protected. All objects, traces, and conditions related to the accident should not be destroyed. If necessary to rescue the injured, these should be moved. When dealing with certain objects on site, proper site markings should be made and protective measures should be taken.

4.4 When conducting an accident investigation, an accident investigation work plan should be developed based on actual needs.
