Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part
1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 6721-1986 "Statistical Standards for Economic Losses from Employee Injuries and Fatalities in Enterprises" and is consistent with GB/T 6721-1986. Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
---The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1986 edition);
---The term "economic loss from work-related accidents" has been changed to "economic loss from production safety accidents," and the terms "direct economic loss" and "indirect economic loss" have been modified. Definition of "economic loss" (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3; 1.1, 1.2,
1.3 of the 1986 edition);
---The statistical requirements and content for "direct economic losses" have been revised (see Chapters 4 and 5, and Chapter 2 of the 1986 edition);
---The section on "Expenses incurred following personal injury or death" has been amended (see 5.1,
2.1 of the 1986 edition);
---The calculation of property loss value has been revised (see 5.2,

Application of data. This document applies to the statistics of direct economic losses from production safety accidents.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 The economic value of losses caused by production safety accidents.
Note. This includes both direct and indirect economic losses.
3.2 direct economic losses Expenses incurred due to personal injury or death caused by the accident, value of property damage, emergency rescue costs, cleanup of the accident scene, and other impacts. The economic value of regional and transactional expenses.
3.3 The economic value of losses caused by the accident, including production stoppages, reductions, shutdowns, resumptions, resource damage, and other losses incurred as a result.
Note. The statistical content and calculation method of indirect economic losses are detailed in Appendix A.
4.Statistical Requirements Statistics on direct economic losses from accidents should include.
a) Expenses incurred following personal injury or death;
b) Value of property loss;
c) Emergency rescue costs;
d) Costs for cleaning up the accident scene and the affected area;
e) Transaction costs.
