Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part
1.Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting. This document replaces GB 5863-1993 "Inland River Navigation Marks" and GB 5864-1993 "Main Dimensions of Inland River Navigation Marks". This document is mainly based on GB 5863-1993 and integrates the content of GB 5864-1993.Compared with GB 5863-1993, except for structural adjustment and Apart from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Added 10 terms and definitions such as "inland river navigation aids" and "visual aids to navigation" (see Chapter 3);
b) Increased the classification of inland navigation marks (see 4.1);
c) Changed the category of visual aids to aid and added warning signs (see 4.3,
3.4 of GB 5863-1993);
d) Added general requirements for radio aids to aids and virtual aids to aids (see 4.4);
e) Changed the functional description of the river crossing sign (see 5.1.2,
4.1.1 of GB 5863-1993), and added a tower for the river crossing sign Body color and legend (see
5.1.2 and Figure 1);
f) Changed the description of the function of coastal markers (see 5.1.3,
4.2.1 of GB 5863-1993), and added towers for coastal markers Body color and legend (see
5.1.3 and Figure 2);

This document specifies the general requirements for inland river navigation aids, visual aids to aid and main dimensions, radio aids to aids and virtual aids to aids, aids to aids distribution etc. This document is applicable to the aids to navigation marks distributed in inland waters such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and canals within the territory of the People's Republic of China.
Note. Border rivers and other special navigable waters are stipulated separately according to specific conditions.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 17765 apply to this document.
3.1 In inland waters such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and canals, visual aids to navigation and radio navigation are set up for safe, economical and convenient navigation of ships. Aids to navigation such as navigation marks and virtual navigation marks.
