1 Scope

GB 48004-2026 is the Chinese national standard on specification for configuration of safety production equipment in postal industry, in the field of services and company organization. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 28 January 2026 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and takes effect on 1 February 2027. Classification: ICS 03.240, CCS A20. This document specifies the basic requirements for the configuration of safety production equipment in the postal industry, as well as the safety requirements for business premises, processing sites, and transport vehicles. The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10757 and GB/T 27917.1 apply to this document.

4 Basic Requirements

4.1 Postal and express delivery companies should be equipped with safety production equipment such as electricity supply, monitoring, and labor protection equipment, and should regularly maintain, service, and test them.

4.2 Postal and express delivery companies shall configure fire protection facilities and equipment in accordance with the requirements of standards such as GB 50140, GB 55036, and GB 55037. equipment.

---Business premises, processing areas, and express delivery terminal outlets should be equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and filters. Self-rescue breathing apparatus for firefighters, etc.;

---Business premises, processing sites, and express delivery terminal outlets should be equipped with leakage and overload protection devices;

---Business premises and processing areas should be equipped with evacuation doors, evacuation corridors, safety exits, fire emergency lighting, and evacuation signs, etc. Evacuation routes should not be obstructed by objects that impede the evacuation of people;

---Business premises and processing areas with vehicle charging needs should set up independent vehicle charging areas, equipped with centralized charging equipment, and connected to them. Fire barriers were installed in other areas, and fire extinguishers were provided.
